IMAX Release in India: Most Awaited Sequels at War

Fans were looking forward to Final Destination: Bloodlines, especially since it was supposed to hit IMAX screens in India on May 16, 2025. But here’s the twist — it’s no longer coming to IMAX, all because of Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. What happened?

So what did Warner Bros. do? They pushed Bloodlines’ release one day earlier to May 15 to make sure it gets a chance in cinemas. The studio is hoping the buzz in those first two days will help the film not get totally lost behind Cruise’s blockbuster.

Here’s the interesting part. Sinners, a smaller film with a cavity following, was taken off IMAX screens in places like Eros Mumbai and Paras Delhi earlier. But guess what? It’s back. Starting May 9, Sinners is playing again in Eros IMAX, Paras IMAX and Priya IMAX. The film will be showing at 10:30 pm at Eros, 2:55 pm at Paras and 9:00 am and 5:45 pm at Priya. Not bad for a film that wasn’t even supposed to be on IMAX in the first place! Despite not being a biggie, Sinners is doing well at the box office and might even cross Rs. 10 crore soon. Final Destination: Bloodlines is feeling the heat from Mission: Impossible but Warner Bros. has done a smart thing by pushing the release date to get in a good run before Cruise takes over. It’s not ideal but it’s the best they could do in a crowded market.
