The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the World Cup 2019. The biggest name missing in this squad is Telugu cricketer Ambati Rayudu. Instead of Rayudu, the selectors have opted for Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar. The next name missing is wicket-keeper Rishab Pant and experienced Dinesh Karthik is picked.

Virat Kohli will be leading the side while Rohit Sharma is the vice-captain. The selectors also have showed faith in Lokesh Rahul and he is expected to be the number fourth batsman. Team India is struggling for a number four batsman and Lokesh comes in handy as he can open in case Rohit Sharma or Shikhar Dhawan is rested.

In the pace attack, Mohammad Shami has found a place and the rest of the seamers are Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah. Spinners include Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal.
