Vajpayee’s 94th birth anniversary

Hyderabad: It is India’s former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 94th birth anniversary today. Leaders are paying rich tributes to the late PM.
A son of a school teacher, Vajpayee was born in 1924 in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. He was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, BJP’s parent organization. An amateur poet, known for his engaging speeches, Vajpayee is seen as one of the most loved politicians of the country.

Vajpayee was many personalities rolled into one. He was a poet, an orator par excellence, a shrewd politician, an outstanding parliamentarian. He was also a tough Prime Minister when the situation so warranted.
